WELCOME TO LAUNCESTON

HISTORY & HERITAGE
Once the ancient capital of Cornwall and with a millennium of history to enjoy, Launceston has much to offer. Walking from the Norman castle, passing the tower built by the Black Prince, then through the narrow medieval streets, you arrive at Southgate Arch, the last remaining gate to the only walled town in Cornwall.

LOCATION

Situated close to the Devon border and within the picturesque Tamar Valley, Launceston is conveniently situated between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor and within easy reach of the north and south Cornish coasts. It’s the perfect location from which to explore the rest of Cornwall as well as nearby north and west Devon.
